OD2 sells millions of tunes
European digital music operator OD2 today introduced it has offered a million downloaded tracks within the first quarter 2004.
The organization stated these figures represent a doubling of their download business as compared to the 4th quarter 2003 – along with a massive ten-fold rise in sales as compared to the year-earlier period.
OD2 licenses its plan to a number of operators across Europe. In contrast, Apple’s industry-leading iTunes Music Store has offered more than 50 million tunes to consumers over the US.
OD2 stated its turnover for that quarter was $1.84 million.
