Time Capsule not server-grade

A week ago Apple up-to-date it is time Capsule ability to 3TB. Formerly the unit capped out at 2GB. It is £399 for that 3TB model, and £249 for that 2TB model (formerly £396). The stopped 1TB model was £239.

Some experts took problem with Apple’s claims on its product page the 2TB or 3TB drive is really a “server-grade hard disk”.

Hardmac opened up in the drive to check it to last year’s model. It found the brand new Time Capsule consists of a Western Digital hard disk having a 64MB cache. Which has similarities towards the drive in the last hardware.

Hardmac spoke to Western Digital, who described the drive like a “public model”, no enterprise-qualified hard disk.
