Apple says ‘Bonjour’ to Windows
Apple has shipped a software update for Windows systems, Bonjour for Windows 1.0.4.
Bonjour is Apple’s technology for zero-configuration networking of computers situated on the same wired or wireless LAN.
The technology was formerly called Rendezvous, but the name was changed following a dispute over the rights to that name.
Bonjour enables automatic discovery of computers, devices, and services on IP networks. It uses industry standard IP protocols to allow devices to automatically discover each other without the need to enter IP addresses or configure DNS servers.
The company says the update is recommended for all Bonjour users to improve usability and compatibility with their Windows systems.
