Apple will pay Nokia to settle patent suit Nokia and Apple have settled an almost two-year long legal battle over patents with an agreement that will see Apple pay a lump sum and ongoing royalties to the European mobile-phone maker. LCD-screen prices ‘halved by Xmas’ Flat-panel monitor prices could be halved by Christmas, a top PC-industry figure has predicted. The cuts are expected due to the recent entry of Taiwan-based manufacturers to the LCD (liquid crystal display) market.
